Wanna Beta Test the Dramatically New Read It Later?

Nate Weiner - Posted in Blog,

I’m looking for people to beta test the next release of the Read It Later extension (0.9). It has been revamped to work with Firefox’s new bookmarking system and has several new features which need some proper testing.

Anyone is welcome to try it but I’m looking for people who:

  1. Have Firefox 3 Beta (If not, you can run FF2 and 3 together see below)
  2. Currently use Read It Later at least a few times a week
  3. Willing to give good feedback

Interested? Leave me a comment (and email) below or email me. I’ll be letting beta testers play in about a week.

Note: You can run Firefox 3 and Firefox 2 together on the same machine if need be. Here are some instructions on how to do so: Windows - Mac

  1. I’d love to beta test… I definitely use Read it Later a lot. Not really Firefox 3, but I just downloaded the thing that you linked to so I can try it out. Looking forward to hearing from you!

  2. In my nightly grazings I have incorporated Read It Later into my routine for gathering material to be evaluated after leaving the RSS Reader. I am very interested in testing the beta version

  9. I’ve just downloaded and installed FF3b4. I’ve disabled extension checking JUST so I can keep using Read It Later, so would love to test out the latest compatible beta version.

    Cheers.

  11. I have been using Read it Later for some time and am very glad to see that it is being updated. (As an aside: I hope the update resolves the problem with marking redirecting URL’s to read later and then not being able to directly mark them as read)

I’d love to try it out, but I haven’t yet made the move to Firefox 3. So I will anxiously await a release. Thanks again for a great extension!

  12. I use FF3b5 on Win Vista exclusively, currently running a bunch of FF2-plugins with good results. And I might translate to Swedish :).

  15. If this beta version works (or is supposed to work) with FF RC2 (Windows), then sign me up! I really miss having RIL now that I’ve moved full-time to FF3…
