2.0 Display Problems

First asked 260 days ago

This topic pertains to the 2.0 Firefox extension only.

-----

If the new layout/design of 2.0 looks wrong to you, please make sure you are not using a custom theme that is incompatible before posting it as a problem.

If you are using a theme, please disable it to see if it solves your problem. Regardless of the result, please post the theme you are using below along with a description of the problem and I will work on making RIL compatible or let the theme designer know.

Thanks!

I use noia 2.0. If you could add an option to change the popup window's title bar color I'd be happy. Black looks perfect on an phone, but it really clashes with FF.

    Hi,
Love RIL. In version 2.0 the "save button on the status bar won't show, it was there before. Is there any way to get it to show again?

    Thanks in advance.

      @Dude

What do you mean by the save button in the status bar? Do you mean this one?

I don't have a screenshot, but didn't the old RIL have one or more buttons in the browser's status bar? At the very right bottom of the browser window. I think this is what dude meant.

Ah, check out the Customize tab in the options. You can set which status bar icons show and when.

There's a problem with LittleFox and Walnut2 for Firebox. In both cases, the right side of the window is cut off even when the window is maximized.

I'm using iFox Smooth v3.5, the only display issue I'm having, is when I edit my Tags, Neither the Save button nor the editing options (most used & all tags) appears right!
    Thanks,,

    Hey guys

Can you send me screenshots of the issues you have to RIL@ideashower.com?

That will make handling these a bit easier.

    Thanks!

    This.
Disabling classic compact solves it.    Private comment hidden

    Hi,
I am using the Persona 'Hilo Day' by Barnnie, and when I want to edit a RIL title, it's just white on white.
When I move to a very popular Persona like 'Groove Blue' it works fine, but it would be nice if I would not have to change the Persona every time I want to edit a title.

I was 30 seconds away from just giving up. I just spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to use the 2.0 version

I had the > sign in my awesome bar, but couldn't figure out how to actually READ the things I save.

I disabled tiny menu extension and restarted, I went to the default skin - and restarted. I reconfigured my toolbar to split the awesome bar our separately from the menu. no luck.

I did finally figure it out. To save space, I long ago moved my navigation menu items UP to the menu tool bar with File, etc. and don't use the navigation toolbar at all.

The old version worked fine - this version is completely non-functional with the same setup.

I don't know if you can check to make sure that you're adding your items to an active toolbar as part of the install, but I know I'm not alone in compressing my FF UI to a single line.

Jonatha: You're certainly not -- I had the same problem, and your post helped me fix it.

To clarify, for the sake of others: The "Read Something" icon for 2.0 is placed on the navigation toolbar by default, even if your navigation toolbar is disabled and/or you had the old "Read Something" icon elsewhere. You won't be able to add it to your visible toolbars from the "Customize" dialog, because it's already on a toolbar -- just one you might not be able to see.

To get your "Read Something" button back, then, all you have to do is temporarily re-enable the navigation toolbar, open the Customize dialog, drag it back where it goes, and re-remove the Navigation toolbar.

I don't know how difficult this may be to implement, but if possible I'd like to see the upgrade detect the icon's position and put the new one where the old one was. Otherwise, this is just a minor once-in-a-while annoyance, once you know the trick.

FWIW - when I enabled the nav toolbar and moved the icon up to my main manu instead, I found icons for two other plug ins that I didn't even know had toolbar functionality. So assuming that the toolbar you're installing to is enabled is a widespread error.

For me, JetPack was causing the display issues. Once I disabled that, things seemed to come back to normal.

Does the new version support Asian Characters?
Because I'm using the new version and all the Traditional Characters in the RIL list are just things like"歷史上的今天 "
And it looks fine on the old version.
does anybody know how to fix this?
    thanks

There used to be a little toolbar icon which showed how many I had to read. The button is gone completely.

I guess the recent upgrade removed the toolbar button from where I put it back to it's default. I moved it again and hid the unneeded nav bar. Thanks!
