Automatically Save Pages for Offline
I have been using RIL since yesterday in FF3 and I love it. It's very handy, but there is a long way to go.
Some suggestions
5. Read it offline should be a 1 click option instead of the current 3 step process.

I would really like RIL to automatically sync pages for offline viewing when I mark them. That way I don't have to wait until I'm about to go home and then (remember to and) wait for RIL to actually download all those pages.

I find the offline reading a great help. What I want to know is if there is a way to set an option to save the page locally every time I click on 'Read it Later'?

Offine viewing is currently a 3 step process; there needs to be a preference to make it a zero step process, by automatically downloading everything added to the reading list, in the background, when it's added. Having to remember to click "Read Offline" periodically really hurts the feature's usefulness; I don't typically plan when I'm not going to be able to access the internet. There's no reason to have a gui for this feature at all, except for a checkbox in the preferences dialog.

I just installed Read it Later, and so far I'm pleased with how lightweight and simple it is to use.

I haven't really used the 'read offline' feature yet, but thinking about it, I like this: to be able to set an option such that after I've marked a page as to-be-read-later, it automatically gets saved for offline. (Ideally I guess this would happen in the background or at the end of the browsing session or something)
This would be useful for laptop users, say: they may not know for sure that they're going to be offline later, so they simply won't bother to pre-emptively save all pages, right? And then sooner or later they're offline, and aw shucks it's not there.
A second option I would like is that when I've marked a page as done, as read, as to be removed from the list - it gets archived offline. So I get an automatic offline archive of all the links I've found interesting and substantial enough to bookmark for later. This option wouldn't pay off immediately, I don't think, but would in the long run (as links die and move and change). -

This is exactly the extension I wanted. Well, almost. Add another vote for an option for automatic read offline mode. As gwern says above, I'm a laptop user and I don't always know when I'm going to be offline. When I find myself with time to kill, but no net, it'd be great to be able to pull up some Read It Later links.

Just wanted to let you know that your suggestion will be included in the next version. In fact I'm working on that exact thing as we speak!
