Please follow these steps if you need help getting back into your account:

    ---

If you use the Firefox extension and still have access to it, you can retrieve your username/password from Firefox by following these instructions:
    http://ideashower.com/support/read-it-later/what-is-my-read-it-later-username-and-password/

    ---

If you forgot your password and have registered an email to your account:

You can have your password sent to you here: http://readitlaterlist.com/forgot/

    ----

If you've forgotten your user/pass but are still logged in inside the iPhone/iPad app:

    1. Open the iPhone/iPad app
    2. Open the options
    3. Tap 'Edit account'
    4. Change your password to something you'll remember
    5. Save
    6. Then tap 'Logout'
    7. Relogin to the app with your new user/pass

    ----

If you do not know your username or password and do not have an email account registered to your account:

Unfortunately there may not be a way to retrieve it without risking the privacy of users. You can contact me at RIL@ideashower.com for additional information.

    NOTE:

If you have gone through a password recovery, I would strongly urge you to assign an email to your account so you can recover your password easier in the future:

    You can do that here:

When I click the account; there is not a button for "edit my account" I'm trying to figure out if I had set a username and password.    Private comment hidden

I do have an email asigned to my account, but when following the http://readitlaterlist.com/forgot/ link, the only field there is to fill is the username. Typing the email address won't work there.

What should I do to get the info through my email address?

Can you email me your username (or email)? Send it from the same email you expected the recovery email to go to and send it to RIL@ideashower.com

I did reply to it I believe, maybe your email is blocking my emails. Do you have an alternate address? Can you email it to RIL@ideashower.com (to verify yourself)

    Hello,

I forgot my password and clicked on the "Forgot my password" link. I received an email with a temp password. But when I try to login using the temp, it says "the username and/or password you entered is incorrect".

    Please help!

    Thanks!

I have had exactly the same problem, and cannot get the app on my phone to recognize the new password. Do you remember how you figured it out?

I've forgotten my username, password and email. I'm sure I've assigned an email but every email I tried (I have a few and I'm not sure which one I used) it says that email does not exist and to "Get Help".

I would love to have my old account back, with all the saved bookmarks. Is there any way you could help me?    Private comment hidden

      Hey Indulekha,

Are you able to use any of the other methods listed above?

If not, then unfortunately I have no way to verify that you are the owner of the account. And as much as I want to believe that you are the owner (you probably are), I cannot be 100% sure at this point. Given that, to turn over the keys to the account without any verification would severely affect user privacy. It puts me in a tough spot but when given a choice I have to side with privacy.

If you have any other details that you believe would verify you as the owner without a doubt, you can send them and I can try it out. However, in most cases, the easiest thing to do at this point is create a new account.

Once you've created a new account, the first thing I'd suggest is adding an email to your account at http://readitlaterlist.com/pass/

Why don't you make it easier to see the user name? I can't eve figure out if I already made an account or not.

    Hello,

Found a way around to find your user name and password if they were already defined (not sure if this was an option) and for Firefox only...

Under firefox type the following address in the address bar :
    about:config

PLEASE BE CAREFUL NOT TO DISRUPT ANYTHING, JUST READ THE VALUES

it will open a list of the configuration options, in the filter type "readitlater"

    find the following lines :

    isreaditlater.feed-id-alt : username
    isreaditlater.sync-alt : password

and you can log in on the web site with those.

    Close the "about:config" tab

It is now time to add an email address ;)

Note: this will only work for users who had previously used the 0.9 version and below. This will not work in 2.0 and beyond.
