Major syncing problems.... and a suggestion
Major syncing problems.... I've been using RIL for Firefox and just downloaded the RIL iPhone app. I made changes in my Firefox RIL - for example, I edited one of my tag names on Laptop "psychology: meditation/ne" to "psychology: meditation/neuroscience" but these changes are not showing up in my iPhone RIL... still the old tag name (and even tried hitting the "sync" button on Firefox RIL - normal and full).
When I hit "sync" on my iPhone RIL, it says, "downloading #/16" but does NOT update the tag name. In fact, every time I open RIL on my iPhone it says it's downloading 16 items - when I haven't made any changes. And every time I hit sync on the iPhone RIL, it will do that same download process again.
Major suggestion: don't strip the tags in the reading archive! That doesn't make a lot of sense... if I'm archiving and not completely deleting, it's prolly because I want to be able to go back and view them.... kind of hard when you have a HUGE mass of tagless articles.
And isn't there anyway to remove a "currently reading" article and leave it in the "reading list"?

The syncing problem you are having is because tags are limited to 25 characters. It should tell you when you've tagged an item over that size but it sounds like the missing prompt may be a bug.
I would suggest shorting that tag, then it should sync the change correctly.
In regards to the 16 items RIL keeps trying to download, if you scroll through your list can you find the items that are not downloaded (they will be dark gray as opposed to white). Then can you send me a few of their URLs? I'd like to see why RIL is haven't trouble downloading those.
To remove an item from the currently reading section, you must open it and scroll back up to the top. I'll be adding a 'reset' button in the future.
Thanks!-
Joe
(Just checking if I hit "reply" or not on my last message - in case it's necessary for it to notify you)

You rock for the quick and helpful response!! Thank you! Still having a couple syncing problems, though.
(1) A button would be great in regards to the "currently reading" articles, but the current option works like a charm on the iPhone. On my Firefox version, however, I have an article in the "currently reading" section, and it won't go away using that method. It's also NOT showing up in the "currently reading" section on my iPhone for some reason so I can't use that method to remove it either and sync....
(2) And yeah, I didn't get a prompt about the number of characters for a tag... still having major sync issues with tags. I changed the one >25 character tag in Firefox. Even though I have it set to "auto-sync", it didn't sync until I hit the sync button on Firefox and then again on the iPhone. On the iPhone, however, it strangely split the tag into 2 tags - the one I had used 2 changes ago (with all the appropriate articles associated with it except 1) and the new tag with a 26th character lopped off (and just 1 of the appropriate articles, which is no longer associated with the old tag). So I changed the 26 character tag (didn't know it included spaces) to 25 in Firefox, hit sync on Firefox and then on the iPhone, and nothing.... no changes on the iPhone. Still the old old tag with all articles except one and the second to last tag (not the latest) with 1 article associated with it. On Firefox, it appears just fine - the 25 character latest tag and all associated articles.
When I did a "full sync" on Firefox, I end up with the old old tag with all articles associated but 1 and the 25 character latest tag with just 1 article associated with it. Then I hit sync again on the iPhone, and ended up with the exact same split tags as Firefox.
(3) Here are a couple of the 'dark grey' URL's that keep trying to sync over and over - draining my battery quite quickly actually:

Any word on the tags being stripped away in the "reading archive"?

Does it appear to only be one article or all of them in Firefox? If it's just the one, can you send me the URL?
2:
Can you send me your username, the actual tags you are trying to use and the URL with this tag problem? I wanna check it out
3:
I've added these pages to my list of sites to work on for the text view.
4.
If you search for your tags in the reading archive, do the tagged items appear?
